The first part of the competition we started for the Fin City release is completed. You will all remember, that we joined with monofin manufacturer TRITON to offer you a very special incentive to participate actively in the community life here at Fin City. the overall response to our competition was not as impressive as we expected, but some of our members took us up on our word and helped us to make Fin City bigger and better. One of those few has now won the first part of the competition.

As already stated in the responding article, the TRITON-Fin City Competition is divided into two stages. The prize for the first one, which finished on the 30th of April, is a monofin manufactured and generously donated by TRITON. But the competition is not over yet. The monofin is gone, but there is still a hyperfin by TRITON which is looking for an owner. So don't give up! Participate and contribute and you might be the lucky winner next time. Find out how the competition is run and what you have to do to win!

But let's get to the fun part. The winner of the monofin is:

Vladimir Šoštarić from Croatia

Congratulations and thank you very much for contributing to our community! TRITON will tailor make a monofin to your specifications. The owner of TRITON, Maksym Moroz, will personally contact you via PM here at Fin City and discuss all the details. So make sure you check your PMs in the next few days!

Now let's go for the hyperfin, another quality product of the house of TRITON. It is so easy! All you have to do is, to enjoy yourself here at Fin City!

There has been plenty of turmoil lately at Fin City, most of it behind the scenes, so the members probably didn't notice it much. Visible to them would have been the result of all the troubles: We decided to move our community to another platform!

To make our reasoning behind this clearer, I'm writing this post.

The decision to move Fin City was not an easy one, I can assure you. Moving a whole community from one platform to another is not only an enormous task for the team that has to execute the move, it also involves lots of work and hassel for the members. Some content would have to be moved by them. Then, of course, they would have to register again at the new platform. Therefore there must be significant reasons for a move and there were.

The two biggest issue we are fighting with at the moment, are the fact that email notifications about what is happening at Fin City only get to some of the members and sporadically at that. Group messages didn't seem to get to any of them at all. We know that the majority of members will rely on email notifications and groug messages to find out if there is something interesting going on. If there are no such communications the community life will die down and so it has. Member activity at Fin City has reached zero and the members are not to blame, but the platform.

Another important condition for a community to run smoothly is speed. If page building times are three minutes or longer, or if the members get the infamous "oops" page on a regular basis, they can't be blamed for not visiting the site anymore.

So these were the reasons that forced us to decide to move the community to a platform that can offer us better speed, stability and less bugs and errors. In the last few days though things have changed. After I announced our decision to move I received several emails over the last few days from influential staff at the company where our community is located, up to the "big boss", telling us that our little community is counted among their favourites and urging us to stay. Significant concessions were made, that are supposed to solve the problems we are experiencing. The point is that, in the interest of Fin City and most important in the interest of our members, we decided to delay the move for some time. If everything turns to the better, we would be more than happy to spare you the hassel of a move.

After plenty of consideration and soul searching we've decided to move Fin City to another platform. We know, that it seems unprofessional to choose a platform and not stick with it, but in our opinion it is much more professional to choose a platform, that offers the maximum of services to its members.

This move to another provider is costing us a considerable amount of energy, work and money, but we believe, that it is the best way to improve our community. We also count on your continous support and loyalty. We'll keep the inconveniences to you as little as possible. We won't be able to prevent, that you'll have to register again, but everything else will stay the same, even the domain name. Fin City will still be reachable under www.fin-city.com

We will try to keep you updated on the move through group mails, but since they don't work all the time, please check into our page at facebook or here at the community on a regular basis.

Greez,
the Fin City Team

There is obviously still a lot of uncertainty out there as for the regulations concerning the use of swimsuits in championships and international competitions and also about what bifins are homologated for above-mentioned events. This article is supposed to shed some light on the rules and regulations for 2010 [source: CMAS].

Swimsuits

According to the rules discussed at the meeting of the international finswimming commission in Rome on the 9th of January 2010, swimmers must appear in "decent sportswear". What exactly does that mean? For men basically that means bathing-trunks. Also allowed are bathing-suits covering the whole body. For women that means a one-piece bathing-suit or a two-piece competition bathing-suit. For both, men and women, only ONE swimsuit is allowed. This swimwear must NOT have any effect on the natural bouyancy of the swimmer. This restricts the materials to those used in "old generation" swimsuits. Materials used in "new generation" swimwear like neoprene, rubber, plastic or any material like this are not allowed.

There is an exception though: Open water competitions. Due to the lower water temperatures in those kind of competitions (like underwater orienteering), it is authorized to use neoprene wet suits in the form of trousers, jackets, one-piece and two-pieces. Not allowed is swimwear that enlarges the surface of the swimmer, like skirts or gowns or any other auxiliary equipment or bouyancy device.

Bi-fins

If one wants to participate in bi-finswimming races at championships, world cup or international competitions, one should know what bi-fins (stereo fins) are authorized by CMAS. These are also the only fins allowed for certification for any records with bi-fins.

If a manufacturer wants his bi-fins included in the list published every year by CMAS, he has to request a certification. To obtain such a certification the fins have to fullfill certain criterias. For one they have to be widely distributed, meaning that they have to be made readily available to finswimmers all over the world. There are also norms to be followed as to the dimensions of the fins as there are:

Fins (classical model):     Length: max. 670 mm, width: max. 225 mm
Fins (diving model):          Length: max. 675 mm, width: max. 235 mm

The only materials allowed for bi-fins to obtain a CMAS certification are polypropylene (P.P.) and EVA. New materials are to be submitted for approval. The certification has to be renewed every two years [source: CMAS].

For 2010 no new manufacturer has applied for inclusion in the list which means that there is no change to the list of 2009. The following companies have homologated some or all of their fins (in alphabetical order):

Cressi            Models: Rondinella, Pluma, Reaction Pro and Pro Star
Najade           Models: Speed and Standard
Technisub      Models: Stratus, Caravelle, Caravelle ADJ, Marlin, Grand Prix Blu, Microfin and Blades HF

G. Cook has joined the Fin City editor team to help with putting content into English as it should be (maybe he should have a go at this article). Being an American living in Canada and an "old school" finswimmer, he's predestined for his new job. He already had a go at an article we will submit to various article directories in the internet and to say that he did a good job, would be the understatement of the century! We are very much looking forward to him revising our content.

The Fin City Team is growing, not only in size, but also in quality. So if there are still people out there who'd like to contribute to the Fin City Wiki but are afraid, that their English is not good enough, don't worry! G. will take care of that little obstacal for you. You just provide the content.

But not only people who want to contribute are welcome at our community. Fin City was created to give all finswimmers worldwide a home, where they can communicate, exchange ideas, interact, find new and old friends or simply search for information about their favourite sport. We hope, that in the process we'll be able to promote the sport of finswimming throughout the world and make it as famous as its slower cousin, swimming.

If you care to help our growing editorial team, please get into contact with our admin either via pm through his Profile or via Email!

Fin City urgently needs the assistance of native English speakers!

Fin City is run by a multi-national team of volunteers. Finswimming enthusiasts from all over the world (Italy, France, Venezuela, the Ukraine, etc, etc.) got together to create this worldwide community for finswimmers and other underwater sports. The trouble is, that we now need native English speakers (British, American, Australian, etc.) to put our pidgin into the real thing.

Would you like to become an editor for Fin City? Your job would be to read through already existing articles, tighten the language, clean up the grammar, and make sure the entries are well written and easy to read. If you are interested in helping us making Fin City even better, please contact the admin either via pm through his Profile or via Email!

Come and help us out! You'll get paid in eternal appreciation!

The first Open of Grand Couronne was held on February the 14th. Before discussing the results we would like to draw your attention to the excellent organization of the competition by the GAS Team volunteers including Sami Abdelkhalek, initiator of the competition.

This competition was an opportunity for the best French finswimmers to qualify for the France National Team.

Three finswimmers are well positioned to join the French National Team this season. Camille Heitz won the 50 AP (17 "21), 100 IS (38" 40) and 400 IS (3'24 "38) which should allow her to be selected easily. Benjamin Hamelin is on course for his second international cap in the Seniors Team through its victory on 400 IS (3'01 "33) and 800 IS (6'25" 39). But a new face should join the French National Team this season. We are talking about  Anne Lambert who is only in her second finswimming season. She achieved 14'13 "38 on 1500 SF and 7'26" 07 on 800 SF. Hopefully she will continue to progress!

Maxime Bergeron is half way to the French National Team . He has beaten his personal best on 1500 SF with 13'21 "43. He will try in the next months to get a second qualifying time 400 SF or 800 SF. Coraline Aze has also managed to qualify by winning the 800 IS in 7'22 "91. In Juniors Jeanne Sery swam 19"09 on 50 AP and Alexandre Noir 1'29 "34 on 200 SF.

Accompanied by varying weather conditions, with hot and sunny days as well as cold and rainy ones, the 10th Ordizia Open Finswimming Competition took place in the town of Ordizia, in the Spanish Basque Region, just as it has been for the last 10 years. All the races took place on a single day though. A total of 138 finswimmers fought in 18 races, to win the prices offered by the organizers. Points were given to every competitor based on the difference between the time of the competitor and the World Record of that particular distance, meaning that the smaller the difference the higher the amount of points given.

For the males the winner with the highest number of points was the Italian Policeman Andrea Nava with 943 points achieved with the time of 1:24:16 on the 200 mt sf, followed by the multi World Champion Stefano Figini with 906 points thanks to the 3:07:43 on 400 mt sf. Third of the men with 861 points  was Andrea Rampazzo, World Champion with the bifins, who swam the 100 mt sf in 00:37:38.

Let’s come to the girls. Giorgia Viero with 827 points, won the competition, swimming the 800 mt sf in 7.31:21. Second place for Sarah Sanvito, with 771 points thanks to the time of 7.45:43 on 800 mt sf. And the third was the Spanish María López, from Alicante, who swam 50 ms sf in 19.69, gaining 737 points.

International Coastal Clean Up Day 2009

September 19, 2009

Anilao Pier

Anilao, Mabini Batangas

Introduction

The ocean is being used as the biggest litter box today.  Every trash, small or big, will eventually go to the ocean.  The catch, unfortunately, is that this trash will be brought back to the shores with a vengeance.  Shorelines will be tittered with garbage; coral reefs will be choked by plastics, all of these because of the irresponsible acts of human.

The Philippines is not spared by this. Actually, being an archipelagic country, the effects are even greater in magnitude.  So, cleaning up our coasts is already out of the question.  What is more important to ask is how, when and where can we do this cleaning-up-our-trash act?

The International Coastal Clean-up Day is an avenue for most people to gather up in the shore.  Here it is not stressed that everyone should feel guilty but everyone should act.  This small act, for some, is actually an eye-opener for people to realize that they can do something to help preserve and protect the environment.

Just like in the opening prayer of the finswimmers Ada and Mariana, that this event may “continue as unselfish act of love for the community of Anilao to whom God entrusted with pristine beauty and solemnity of His Creation and be watchful and protective of this gift.”

Coastal Clean-up Advocacy

The Ocean Conservancy has set forth objectives that are driving forces in its annual International Coastal Clean-up.  These objectives have been adopted by the organizers in this event.  The following are the objectives of ICC as according to Ocean Conservancy:
  1. To collect data
  2. to educate people
  3. To create solutions
All of these to solve the problems of solid waste and litter found in our shorelines, which can harm the environment, thus as according the Ocean Conservancy Data Card:
Human –made debris, trash and litter can and will:
  1. Harm the environment and wildlife
  2. Threaten human health and safety
  3. Cause communities to lose money
  4. Make coastlines and beaches look bad

The idea behind this event is that through “partnerships with business, governmental, environmental groups and citizens, we are helping to change the behaviors and practices (of people) that create debris.”

It is indeed a multi-sectoral partnership that is needed for this event.  The overall head committee is the Philippine Finswimming Federation Inc.. The local governments of Quezon City and Mabini Batangas were again had shown its support for this coastal clean-up. Together with some interest and private groups like the Philippine Life Saving, Dive Republic,  Speedo, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, International Marine Life Alliance, Think Pop/Scene Stealers, University of the Philippines - Diliman, University of the Philippines – SubAquatica, Philippine Coast Guard, Mr. Gilbert Fournier –CMAS Archaeologist CMAS (World Underwater Federation) and SIKAT Inc. this event was made into reality.

Just as in the local event, Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Clean-up is also supported by the following international organizations:

  1. United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA)
  2. The World Conservation Union (IUCN)
  3. Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the United Nation’s Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (IOC-UNESCO)
To really highlight the advocacy of this annual event, a prayer led by the Philippine Finswimming Team made a reminder to the people of Anilao,  the Covenant of the Sea pledge was headed by The Philippine Life Saving that read as follows that the participants/volunteers, “commit themselves to a vision of society that is responsible for protecting and conserving living marine resources and the conservation of their habitat, to fully understand the cause of global warming and its effect in our daily lives; to find solutions within ourselves, to educate our community and to remember that: “Beyond a One-day cleanup, Living Environmental Awareness Everyday”

Participants

Participants and volunteers to this year’s event were students from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, University professors, U.P. Finswimming Team, Quezon City Hall officers and employees, divers, nondivers, enthusiasts and environmentalists.  Even the local community, Department of Education-Batangas, Bantay Dagat-Batangas, MENRO-Batangas and students of different Barangays of Anilao Mabini, Batangas had taken part in the event. All in all a total of 622 guests and volunteers  were part of the event.

Media partners are also present to further disseminate the cause of the event. Present are members from GMA 7- Marlon Luistro(shown in 24 ORAS News-Monday), ABS-CBN, Philippine Star , Dennis Sabangan of European Press Agency, and of course our Guest of Honors: Mayor Nilo Villanueva of Mabini Batangas, Philippine Sports Commissioner Akiko Thomson Guevarra, Presidents of Philippine Life Saving- Mr. Arne Navarra and Mr. Benedict Reyes of the Philippine Finswimming Federation Inc., and the Vice Governor of Batangas Mr. Mark Leviste.

Location

Anilao Mabini, Batangas boast of a beautiful coastline.  This site is the location for the coastal clean-up this year.  With a shoreline of almost 5kilometers, there is a great span of land that volunteers can walk through and collect trash washed up from the Balayan Bay of Batangas.  This part of Anilao is pristine and needed to be preserved for its coast is also home to a flourishing coral reefs and diverse marine life.  Sightings of sea turtles, and dolphins were also reported in this area.

The Anilao Tourism Authority served as the hub center for the whole duration of the event.

Clean – up Protocol

Participants were grouped into four. Each member was given trash bags and gloves for protection against sharp objects.  Data Card instructions were given by Ms. Relyn Tan,Mr. Ricky Somes and Ms. Blanch Gutierrez. Data Cards were filled-up with the necessary information for recording purposes. The collection of trash involves underwater, shoreline and surface of the water clean-up.  The clean-up proper started at 6am to 12noon for shoreline cleanup and resumed in the afternoon for the underwater cleanup until 4pm.

The trash collected should be segregated and counted as per Ocean Conservancy’s classification of activities/categories the debris is part of:

  1. Shoreline and Recreational Activities
  2. Ocean/Waterway Activities
  3. Smoking-related Activities
  4. Dumping Activities
  5. Medical/Personal Hygiene
  6. Debris Items of Local Concern

The collected and recorded data will be sent to the Ocean Conservancy Office under the Office of Pollution Prevention and Monitoring in Virginia, U.S.A.

Trash Collected and Recorded

A total of 1800 kilos of trash have been collected in a small span of time.  This includes the trash collected underwater, in the shoreline and in the surface of the water. More trashes collected in community based area like Anilao Pier and one truck had to be sent twice by the Mayor to collect the all sacks of trash.

Last year’s most peculiar of all trash is a PC BOARD AND NEBULIZER TUBE was found by one of the students.  This time more and more plastics, diapers, beltless napkins, and clothings. This just shows how much garbage can be collected in the shoreline. While scuba divers, Comm. Akiko Thomson Guevarra and hubby Chips Guevarra, Philippine Life Saving- Larry Alag,  Capt. Alfred Santos of the Philippine Coastguards, Mr. Benedict Reyes of the Philippine Finswimming Federation, Prof. Bert Madrigal and UP Subaquatica got less trash underwater(around 1 kilo or less per diver). In which the group felt happy that the trash is still contained on the shoreline and can be solved by the people around the area.

Closing Ceremony

A closing ceremony was concluded by Vice Governor Mark Leviste right after the Finswimming and Philippine Life Saving demonstrations.

Plaque of Appreciation were given to Mayor Nilo Villanueva, Mayor Sonny Belmonte and Comm. Akiko Thomson Guevarra. The Champions of the 13th Hongkong International Finswimming Competition were recognized and given a basket of goodies by the Philippine Finswimming Federation Inc.

All in all, the event was a success and truly made a mark for this people who have participated in this year’s International Coastal Clean-up.  May this endeavor continue for the sake of our love to our environment.

In about a week the Open Ordizia competition will start. A lot of finswimmers, mostly from Spain and Italy, such as Stefano Figini, Cesare Fumarola, Andrea Nava, Andrea Rampazzo and Gianluca Mancini, will fight to win this famous competition. The races will be held in the Polideportivo Majori, in the city of Ordizia (Spain) on Saturday 20th, 2010.

Here the WEB SITE of the event, and the official STARTING LIST

One member of our team will participate as a finswimmer! If you are also attending, why don't you go to the event in our calendar and set your status as "attending"?

When we started with Fin City we just assumed that members of the world wide finswmming scene communicate in English. That is, why Fin City is only available in that language. That, and the fact, that we're only a bunch of volunteers who run the website and don't have the funds to employ translators for various languages. Sadly we had to find out, that we were mistaken. Plenty of feedback assured us, that a multi-lingual website would be very much appreciated. Well, translations are expensive, so we did the next best thing: We installed "Google Translate" on the Fin City website.

We know, that automatic translators are not exactly the most accurate ones. How does Google put it?

"... Even today's most sophisticated software, however, doesn't approach the fluency of a native speaker or possess the skill of a professional translator ..." (source: Google)

They are certainly right there, but we believe, that using Google Translate will give the non-English speakers at least a general idea of what is written at Fin City. Please let us know your opinion by participating in the poll at the bottom of the Fin City homepage and by discussing the subject in the related topic in our forum!

The Fin City Team

Here we go! The new season is starting! I hope your fins and your legs are ready to break records! But before that, just have a look at the event program of the year. First we will have the CMAS World Cup 2010 with some new places like Potsdam and Yentai. For the first time, the final round will take place in France under the sun of Aix-en-Provence. The main event of the year will certainly be the European Championship of Kazan. Here, some finswimmers should repeat their good performances of the last World Championships. We can now pose some questions:

Will Sven Lützkendorf (DEU) and Visilsa Kravchuck (RUS) stay unbeatable?

Probably. They seem to come from another planet. Even Stefano Figini (ITA) wouldn't be able to outstrip the German giant on 800 SF and 1500 SF. However, Figini will be the favorite on the 400 SF. About Vasilisa Krachuck, she also has a very big head start. Valeria Baranovskaya (RUS) and Olga Shyakoskaya (UKR) will have to work very hard to follow her monofin.

Will Igor Soroka (UKR), Evgueni Skorjenko (RUS), Cesare Fumarola (ITA) or Dmytro Sydorenko (UKR) be able to beat Pavel Kabanov (RUS)?

Maybe! Pavel Kabanov was particularly impressive last season after two years without competition. He won all his races but some people in great shape, like Igor Soroka, Evgueni Skorjenko, Cesare Fumarola or Dmytro Sydorenko, should be able to worry the World Records holder.

Is it possible that Denes Kanyo (HUN) will be able to surprise everybody by winning the 200 SF one more time?

Why not! Andrea Nava (ITA) and Stefano Figini saw that they were not alone on this distance. And other finswimmers realised that it was possible to beat the two Italians. This race should be exciting again this year.

Will Camille Heitz (FRA) and Yana Kasimova (RUS) win another gold medal in European Championship?

They have good chances! The French girl was the best European women sprinter on 100 SF and 100 IM during the World Championships. Since she has now graduated and is starting a new life, she should swim very fast this summer! Yana Kasimova was the fastest European women in Saint Petersuburg on 50 AP. The two girls will have to watch Katerina Dyelova (UKR), Galija Sattarova (EST) and Margo Artushenko (UKR) who will stay very dangerous. But we mustn't forget the young Greek Eirini Deligiani. It will be her first senior season but we saw last year that she was untouchable in Europe with the Juniors. She also took the sixth place on the 50 SF in Saint Petersburg. So be careful !

Who will be able to defeat Galina Arakelian (RUS)?

Last year Asian finswimmer women dominated the immersion races. This year Galiana Arakelian has the opportunity to win a gold medal again in international championships. But Oleksandra Shapsai (UKR), Oksana Khovilova (RUS)and Sandra Pilz (DEU) should aspire to this medal too.

Will the battle between Andrea Rampazzo (ITA), Konstantin Zotov (RUS)and Alexander Ivanetc (UKR) be as strong as last year?

We hope so ! Andrea Rampazzo finally found two serious opponents for our biggest pleasure! Bifins races should be more common this year and we can expect that other swimmers will want to try bifins races like Konstatantin Zotov last year.

Which country will dominate the long distance races?

The supremacy on the long distance races was disconcerting last year. The German team showed that it was one of the best team of the world even if the Russian Team won the relay. In women the Ukrainian team impressed in Saint Petersburg leaving only the 20 Km to the Russian team. This year it will be difficult again for others teams to beat it.

I do not know about you but I am, for one, looking forward to the answers to all these questions!

But do not forget our young champions! Juniors have their World Championship this year in Malaga. And I take the bets: Grace Fernandez Castillo will be THE finswimmer of the competition. The young Columbian sprinter was very impressive last year and I think she will be ahead Myrto Apostolidi (GRE) and Roberta Mastroianni (ITA). Another Colombian finswimmer should mark the championships: Juan Fernando Ocampo. Finalist on the 200 SF during the last World championships, he should bring some medals to the Columbian team. Finaly Oleksandr Odynokov (UKR) should dominate the middle distance races quite easily.

That is it for the moment. All the team of FinCity wish you a great season 2010 !

For its release Fin City has joined up with the well known manufacturer of finswimming equipment TRITON to offer all "active" members of Fin City a very special competition. You can win a monofin and even a hyperfin manufactured by TRITON!

The overall objective of the TRITON-Fin City competition is to attract new members to the Fin City website and encourage them to actively participate in the community life by contributing to the various sections of the community website. Every "active" member automatically participates in the competition.

But what is an "active" member?

At Fin City every member gets so called "Activity Points" for every activity he contributes to the community. Creating a wiki article, adding a link to the link list, adding an event to the event calendar, everything gets rewarded with points (for the exact distribution of points please consult the "Competition Rules" below!). Once a member reaches 30 activity points he becomes an active member and receives one "Competition Ticket". This already enables him to win the TRITON fins. To enhance his chances he can receive additional tickets by generating more activity points.

Rules and conditions for the TRITON - Fin City Competition

Activity Points are given as follows:

Once a member has reached 30 activity points she/he becomes an "Active Member" and recieves a "Competition Ticket". This ticket enters her/him in the TRITON-Fin City competition. The member can recieve additional tickets by obtaining more activity points. For every 15 points she/he will recieve 1 additional ticket. The monofins donated by TRITON will be alloted between all competition tickets as follows:

  • 1 monofin at the end of the first quarter of Fin Cities online presence (April the 30th, 2010).
  • 1 hyperfin at the end of the calendar year 2010 (December the 31st, 2010).

Additional Details:

  • Both fins will be delivered straight from the TRITON factory in the Ukraine to the respective winners.
  • All tickets of the first part of the competition will stay in the competition for the final part, including the winning tickets.
  • Members of the Fin City Team, employees of TRITON and their immediate family are excluded from this competition.
  • The drawing of the winning tickets will be held for the monofin on the 1st of May 2010 and for the hyperfin on the 1st of January 2011.
  • Winners will be notified by the Fin City Team via "Private Message" (this automatically includes a notification at the email address given at "Signing Up") and via the Fin City News board on the community homepage.

Good luck and participate as much as you can!

The Fin City Team has got a new team member! We could win John Lavender to join us at Fin City and head the editing department. He's very active in and knowledgeable about finswimming and since his mother tongue is English he'll be invaluable in editing wiki articles and other things. His job will be to check for language related problems. He'll tighten the language, clean up the grammar, and make sure the entries are well written and easy to read.

Maybe he could start with this article!

Due to technical problems the release date of Fin City had to be delayed. A new date has not been set as of yet. As soon as all issues are sorted out (hopefully in the course of this week) a new release date will be announced in this space. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Fin City will finally open its doors to the general public on Sunday, January the 31st, 2010!

After months of work to make the new finswimming online community as perfect as possible, the Fin City Team announces that the release date is set on the last sunday of the month. The website is desinged in the style of a social network and will consist of a Forum, an Event Calendar and much more. The most important section though will be the Wiki, which aims to become the most comprehensive source for finswimming related information on the internet.

The Fin City Team invites everybody interested in the "Formula One" of the swim sport to join and participate! Help us make this website the "one stop site" for finswimming!
