On Sunday April 11, will be inaugurated in Havana, Cuba's 3rd Pan American Cup American Zone CMAS Underwater, the modalities of Apnea and Finswimming with the confirmed participation of 4 countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Cuba.

Important countries present and some absent in the event
Assist Mexico with its main exponents in the terms of apnea and swimming with fins, as the host country, Cuba.
Colombia will be present with a selection of Elite Finswimming of leading athletes, Pan American record holders located at the top of world rankings, returning after several years of absence from continental events. These athletes are: Lina Grajales, Victoria Alix Perez, Lorena Barbosa, Francy Rodriguez, Mauricio Fernandez, Diego L. Rodriguez, Alvaro H. Polo, F. Miller Cabezas, Frank J. Pino, Edison Jair Tapiero, Avilan and Sebastian Felipe Castañeda, led by coach Fabio Delgado
Ecuador assist Cuba with 5 athletes: Alfredo Rosado Estrada, Pedro Delgado Meza, Gilda Rivadeneira Montalvo and Roberta Arellano Mosquera compete in the specialty of apnea.Participate in swim fins Gabela Rafael Decker. As a coach Vizuete will Freddy Toledo.
Unfortunately and paradoxically, Venezuela one of the main promoters and promoters of CMAS Americas Zone and has been present in the 2 previous editions of the Pan American Cup, 2006 and Mexico 2008 Cuba has not confirmed its participation at the event, due to internal problems which has been dragging the Venezuelan Federation since 2009, even when it is recognized sport by the National Institute and Ministry of Sport, has not obtained the approval of national authorities to participate in a National Team event. However, efforts are ongoing to have a presence in this important international event.
For its part, Chile has not confirmed its presence, due to the difficult economic situation facing the country today, caused by the earthquake last February in the South American country.
The rest of the countries of Latin America affiliated with the World Confederation of Underwater Activities, such as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Canada and the United States also confirmed their participation in the event.
Official Methods and exhibition
The official schedule includes the swimming with fins and open water swimming and the pool of apnea (static, dynamic dynamic with fins and without fins) and the apnea test in Jump Blue Tues.
