thanks to lubomir, we now have a link to some of the best finswimming training videos on the internet (in my humble opinion) .... they are provided by the very professional czech freediving website apnea.cz ... my thanks also go out to those guys over at apnea.cz ...

obvioulsy these videos are in czech, but that doesn't pose a problem at all ... there is no spoken comment and the links posted here will take you to the version where all links to the particular videos are translated into english ....

because there is no explanatory comment, a few things need more information and advice though ... i therefore open this thread for all of us to discuss the videos, express our opinions, give additional advice and use them to help finswimmers all over the world who have no or little access to proper training (like my poor daughter, who has to put up with an amateur trainer like me ) ...

thanks again to ludomir, to apnea.cz and to everybody who'll comment on this thread ...

and i'd like to start straight away with a question ...

in one of the videos under common mistakes there is something cassandra (my daugther) does wrong too ... it's called a cat back ... does anybody have any information or advice about how to get this under control and correct it? ... it would be very much appreciated ...

Thank you Jens
Since I live in Bulgaria (a country where finswimming and freediving are not at all popular) the sources of information are the internet and the infrequent meets with better freedivers. These training videos opened my eyes and helped me improve my poor technique. I hope many people will benefit from it.
Actually, I belive the original source of the Czech training tutorial was tropol.cz website (I downloaded the videos from this site).
I'll be glad if more people can post here their 'home-made' videos to discuss mistakes and drills. I'll gather some of my favorite videos of dynamic apnea (different than finswimming) and post them to see what the experienced finswimmers think.

P.S Jens, THANK YOU for creating this community website - I hope it'll become the most valuable online resource for finswimming. Keep it up!

you are welcome lubomir, but setting up a community like this is comparatively easy ... anybody can do it ... keeping it going is the difficult part and that depends on active members like you ... i can't thank you enough for your dedication here at fin city ... if we had more ppl like you in finswimming, the sport would be much more popular ... but we are working on it and we'll get there eventually ...

Another exercise (not included in the videos above) that I've been doing for some time is swimming on my back with bi-fins with 2 kg weight in my outstretched arms. It helped a lot in my case (beginner) - improved mobility of the joints + abdominal muscles hard like stone.

Just had a chance to look at those videos on apnea.cz - thanx Jens  for directing me to those.  I can figure out some headlines,  I know russian and some words seem almost identical.  And like Jens said - since there are no werbal comments  there than there is no real need to know czech.

There are some problems with video though - for some reason I cannot see the whole screen, there is no slide on the right side of the page to scroll down and adjust the video panel to fit in the middle of the screen.

hi everyone! i need some advice on monofin trainings since i am new in the topic. My 14 year old daughter practises high level swimming, especially dolphin swimming but she needs to make big improvements in her underwater kicks since it is highly important when reaching certain tops. she has now got the shooter monofin and all summer to work with them in order to make this improvement... can anyone give me any advice on specific exercises she should add to her daily swimming trainings to produce a stronger and more efficient kick?  thank you.
