The founder of "Fin City" is not a finswimmer himself. Though he did practice the sport as a young boy he never got to a competitive level for an injury he suffered when he was a very young child. For many years he never thought again about finswimming until his two daughters started with the sport as part of their classic swim training. The older one, Cassandra, quickly turned out to be an exceptional finswimmer which reignited the interest in finswimming in our founder as well. Living on an island, conditions were poor to seriously practice the sport. Lack of knowledge, training equipment and proper training caused Jens to look for information elsewhere. The internet as a source for information was his first choice, but he quickly found out that there was no comprehensive source for information about finswimming. One had to search long and hard for advise about equipment and training, events (like competitions and championships) were distributed all over the net. That brought up the idea to found a community for finswimmers where all the people interested in the sport can come together and exchange informations. Quickly he assembled a knowledgeable team that helped him to put together a community website which can truly be called your "one stop shop" for all information about the "Formula One" of the swim sport!

Jens is responsible for ordering all the hard working "Fin City" team around.
