The Fin City photoalbum is probably the second most difficult part of the community website (after the wiki). It therefore merrits a comprehensive manual. If you should have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask them in the forum under Website!

There are two different ways to add pictures to the photoalbum and though the first one is the easiest, we would like to ask you to use the other one if possible! Our host generously grants us 3 Gb of storage space (paid for by the little ads blocks). Once we've reached this limit we would have to pay for any additional storage. Fin City is run by volunteers and a none-commercial, no-profit community. Though it is planned to buy further storage at a later date, at this stage we will all have to work together to save space. For that purpose you can display the photographs in your own Flickr Account. Whatever your choice, we'll explain both ways.

1.) Fin City Storage

To add photographs to the Fin City storage got to the Photos Page and click on "Add Photo" in the menu on the right hand side. A little window will open. First you choose the picture you would like to add from your computer. Then you can enter a short description of your photo and add some tags. These will help you and the other members to find pictures easier. If you'd like to add another photo, click "Add Another?". Don't forget to choose an album you want the picture to be displayed in! As default your pic will be put into the category "Finswimmers". If there is no album that fits your photograph, ask the admin to create a new one for you (for example one for your club). Click Upload. Done!

To save storage space, please resize your pictures to 800 X 600! Use JPEGs with less then 4 mb!

We regret that we can't create a photoalbum for every member! The software and our limited storage space prevents us from doing so. If you are a club though and you'd like your own category in the photoalbum we'd be happy to oblige. Just write a PM to the Admin, stating your club name and any additional data you have (website, direction, etc.). For any particular member we recommend to tag your photographs with your name. Like this they can be easily found through the "Tags" block on the right.

2.) Your own Flickr Account

Due to technical issues Flickr Accounts can't be integrated into "Fin City" right now. We'll inform you once the situation changes and will tell you how to go about it in this help manual.
